Surf Air makes private air travel affordable

Surf Air is a revolutionary new airline operating out of California, with service to the majority of the United States and some destinations in Europe. The company has done what has until this point been impossible; it has made genuine private air travel affordable to a large portion of air travelers.

Surf Air uses a brand-new and highly efficient aircraft, the Pilatus PC-12. The PC-12 is capable of attaining near-jet speeds, climbing fast to altitude and hitting top speeds of over 400 miles per hour. The PC-12 is not only able to achieve flight times similar to jets, particularly on local and regional flights, but it is also able to get astonishing fuel economy, with fuel consumption on a per-mile basis similar to a large truck. While this may not sound impressive, consider that a typical midsize business jet often gets on the order of 5 gallons per mile. This makes the PC-12 incredibly efficient and a much lower-cost alternative to business jet travel.

But even if jet-like speeds and relatively tiny costs versus other forms of private air travel sound like a great deal, consider that the Surf Air’s real selling point is the fact that total travel times are often far less than even those of private jet travel. This is due to the fact that the PC-12s takeoff and landing performance are such that it can easily fly in and out of almost all of the nearly 15,000 registered airports in the country, including grass and gravel airfields. This means that Surf Air can fly in and out of nearly 15 times the destinations of even a highly capable jet like a Lear 45. And they can fly to literally hundreds of times as many airports as commercial airlines. All of this adds up to round trips that can take as little as 10 percent of the time required by commercial air travel.

ClassDojo Invest Heavily in New App to Facilitate Teacher-Parent Connection

Education Technology has brought a lot of fun in learning. Edtech companies have recorded tremendous success in the past few years. Some of the Edtech companies that registered a positive growth in 2016 include ClassDojo, PE Hub, and Nearpod. Nearpod got a funding of $21 million that facilitated the debuting of over 300 digital lessons. ClassDojo also invested over $21 million to fund the development of the app that connects parents to teachers.

There are several Edtech products, and teachers are not enticed by any product that comes in the market. They are looking for products that are:

Solution Oriented

Teachers use ClassDojo in scheduling activities that they use to show the parents how their children are doing at school. They can take photos and videos of the student’s participation in class and share with parents. ClassDojo has been among the best education tech businesses that have simple apps geared to creating community among students, parents, and teachers.

Products that are designed to lure teachers get it difficult to penetrate into the market. ClassDojo has been proved to be efficient and is currently being used by over 90% of K-8 schools district in the United States. This means that 2 in 3 schools in the US use this app.

Reliable

Initially, education tech companies would take their products to teachers and let them try it and establish if it suits their need or not. Things have changed with many companies coming to the market. Edtech accelerators have come to do what teachers were doing. They try all the products and advice the developer accordingly so that they give teachers ready to use products. These help teachers get the suitable technology and edtech companies to adjust where necessary.

Easy to Implement and Adapt

Educational technology should be easy to adapt. Getting the product that teachers can’t implement is insignificant in education modernization. ClassDojo is working to make it easy for parents to buy videos, yearbooks, lessons and discussion guides that they can use at home with their children. They are also planning to include features that will help parents pay schools through phones. Edtech companies are geared to creating a positive culture with classrooms and schools.

The Bold New Direction For Solvy

Solvy is a free to use math based education platform and phone app whose development has been spearheaded by the well known entrepreneur and businessman, Alexei Beltyukov. The purpose of the application, Alexei Beltyukov states, is to create a fully customized math education program that will track the progress of the student and log the areas where the student is weakest and build around those said weak areas.

Teachers will handpick the problems during a session and then will be personally notified through the app when one of their students is doing particularly poorly on a given problem.

This is great because it allows for more focus and personalization in even the largest of classrooms by revealing, in real time, just what every student needs to work on.

The Solvy app is also a very unique angle for students and challenge the old and false saying that high school students so oft like to throw around, “Who needs math anyways, I’m never going to use it for anything.”

Alexei Beltyukov was brought in to work on the Solvy project due to his background in education, as he had previously worked extensively in the medical field as well as in interactive educational services.

Given this experience, Alexei has taken up the mantle of Chief Operating Officer for Solvy and plans to take the company in a ever more expansive platform that will better the educational lives of, not just students, but also of teachers.
